Misleading Thought Can Lead to Loss of Faith

So why am I concerned with the unfortunate spreading of the misleading thought that if America turns from her wicked ways, God will heal her land? Leading up to the November 3, 2020 election, many in America did repent and turned from their wicked ways. So, why has God not healed our land? Did not enough people repent? Is He not faithful to His word? He is always faithful to fulfill everything He has promised. Does it mean then that “My People” have not repented?  Who actually are the My People.  As you may realize already, I do not believe God has ever given America the promise that He will heal our land if we (America) turn from our wicked ways. Let me be crystal clear. If God were to ever “heal” America, that decision would not be based on the promise given to Israel in 2 Chron chapter 7. This blessing would be based on another promise found elsewhere in scripture or just plain providential favor.  If you agree that this is true, then, please do not look for the land of America to be healed any time soon, for America as a whole has definitely not repented.

First, I do not believe America will ever be healed based on Israel’s promised as outlined in 2Chronicles 7. Second, even if the promise is given to America (which it is not), God does not have to fulfill His promise immediately.  Third, even if America does repent and turns from her wicked ways, that change in behavior does not mean God has to bless America as a nation. He has His own timetable. He has a purpose and a plan. One day His glory will cover the entire earth and all evil will be subdued . When that will happen? I can only speculate and am reluctent to do so - setting a future date and time. 

Now back to the unfortunate outcome of this misleading thought.  Why am I so concerned?  Some of you have already been led to believe that God would heal our land by a direct intervention in the November 3, 2020 election. That did not happen.  Your hope was based on a particular person retaining the office of president. You were programed to think that a victory would take place on November 3, 2020. Why? If My people, meaning you or the church would turn from your wicked ways, God would heal the land, give us a great nation where we as Christians could live the good life and thrive. This misleading promise was easy to sell. Who does not want to live in a peaceful nation to raise their children and grandchildren? You were even told if you did not go out and vote, you were disobeying the voice of God, and we went out and voted. As of January 20,2021, some of you are really confused. The election did not go as many preacher’s prophesied and others declared in dreams. Some of you are still holding out for a political change to take place. As time goes along, some will become discouraged when this change does not come. The root of such discouragement will be based in the false assumption that God has failed to keep His promise as outlined in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Be assured God always keeps His promises, but God did not give America or the Church the 2 Chronicles 7:14 promise.  You were mislead.  

If America is blessed in the future, it will come for one or both of following two reasons. God sovereignly chooses to bless America because it fits His purpose and/or we are blessed because we have blessed Israel. Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Some who feel God does not keep his promises will depart from the faith. Preachers have made promises to the flock which they cannot deliver. They have set up a portion of their flock to fall. Preachers were deceived because they did not rightly divide the truth. 2 timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” I will continue to address this line to thought in a future post.
